Teddy, The Most Beautiful Boy in the World.

Teddy, The Most Beautiful Boy in the World is a new children’s picture about a greyhound called Teddy who believes he’s the most beautiful boy in the world.

Then Teddy discovers he has a long, pointy nose, a skinny body, and a bald bum. Can Teddy learn that everyone is beautiful just the way we are?

The story explores themes of family, friendship, self-esteem and belonging. It shows children the importance of seeing that everyone is different and valuing their difference.

The story is based on author Kylie Miller’s experience with an adopted greyhound called Teddy. Readers first met Teddy in Albert, The Greyhound Who Loves To Run.

Teddy, The Most Beautiful Boy in the World is illustrated by Karen Erasmus and published by Laneway Press.

Albert, The Greyhound Who Loves to Run is the heart-warming, true story of Albert, an anxious adopted greyhound who must overcome his fear of cats to find a safe home, a warm bed, and a family of his own.

The book tells the true story of Albert, a two-year-old greyhound, who jumped the fence at his Gippsland Lakes home after being spooked by the family cat a day after his adoption.

The story of his escape and nine weeks on the run captured the imagination and interest of animal lovers worldwide. His adventures – and eventual return – were reported nationally in the Australian media.

Albert, The Greyhound Who Loves to Run is a fictionalised account, but includes real-life characters, including greyhounds Albert and Teddy, Cleo the cat, and Albert’s great love and saviour, Rhonda.

Its themes include love, family, patience, persistence, friendship, and belonging.

Black Summer was a terrible time for us all – the uncertainty, the turmoil, the trauma, and the loss.

But the kindness that came out of it was extraordinary.

Heroes of Black Summer tells the stories of people from around Australia – and around the world – who rallied to help fire-affected communities. It tells stories of heroism, courage, resilience, and generosity as the community recovered from the disaster. It provides fire-affected communities with a tool to support healing and recovery, to help children process the trauma.

Heroes of Black Summer was co-written by Craig Sheather and illustrated by Karen Erasmus. It was published by Australian Geographic in 2021.
